These measurements may vary a little once the painting is completed.

 

Please note a mount is normally fixed to the final painting which means the overall size will be slightly larger. All watercolour paintings should be framed with a mount to protect the painting from the glass in the frame. Pastel paintings should have a double mount. Also please avoid using cleaning products on the glass in the frame.

When taking a photograph of your pet, think about their personality - what makes them special, e.g. maybe your pet is known for being a bit lazy so perhaps a shot of him/her on the bed can portray this trait and have more meaning for you as a lasting memory in the final painting. Photographs of animals (and people) work best if they capture the eyes and have a variation of light and shade.
 

Try getting down to the level of the animal and use natural light if possible. You may need a lot of patience to get the shot you're after, so please bear this in mind.
